hi G, smiley - smiley

you really think PM was better than the latest effort? smiley - sadface

for all it's faults, i definitely thought it had more going for it than Episode 1! I mean, what redeeming qualities did that kiddy movie contain?

about five minutes at the beginning where the Jedi get tough, and to my mind the entertainment is over.

at least in AotC we got to see multiple Jedi action and of course Yoda kicking ass! smiley - biggrin

We even got a bonus villain in the form of Chris Lee! (he gets everywhere these days, dunnee?)

Besides, you can't have it being better AND worse than Return! smiley - laugh

(though i approve of leaving 'the other one' out of the running completely!)

oh, and by the way, Oberon - that scene with the speeder bikes (cool scene - cool part of the arcade game! smiley - ok)...

the whole squad were tramping through the forest when they stumbled across a group of these 'biker' STs. So 'Action Han' and his pet carpet took em on, but failed to stop *two* of them from taking *off*!

"I see them!" "Wait for me!" scream the twins and jump on the remaining speeder together (i think - in any case, at one stage Leia is getting a 'backy' on Luke's 'bike')

they get split up when Luke jumps over onto one of the baddies' bike and they take one each

then Leia finds the furry toy, whilst Luke (presumably using the GPS qualities of the Force) manages to trudge back to the group)

it has a certain bearing on the ensuing plot, coz of Leia's bond with the fuzzballs... though at the end of the day it is a combo of Luke's 'powers' and the tin-man's resemblance to a fuzzball deity that saves our heroes from immolation. smiley - smiley

not sure what use that is, but it's fun to write about. smiley - smiley

Hmmmm.... Interesting.... I think I'll change the reference in TPM, as you're right, it is quite subjective. smiley - smiley Though I do think that refering to the hype surronding it is fair comment.
In answer to Spliff's question about why i wanted to kno about the biker scene, until recently this entry actually described entire plot of each film in some detail. That was until I realised it broke the Writing Guidelines!

Not really a question, sorry, it was just a comment you put at the end of your last post to this thread. 'not sure what use it is' (in reference to the speeder scene). Sorry bout the confusion smiley - smiley

I agree with Gnomon, sorry (although I'd actually be inclined to swap the first two). Phantom Menace was extremely under-rated.

Hey, Oberon, this is starting to look! really good. Keep it up!smiley - ok

I think you're right to leave some plot detail in. There are very few people on this planet who don't know how the trilogy turns out.

Have you drawn a definite line where you're going to stop, or is this going to be one of those never-ending entries?

I'm hoping that, once I've round off the Force sub-title, put in a bit about the John Williams score and double-checked for more links, this *fingers crossed* will be ready for Peer Review.

I'll take my name off it when it goes to PR - don't want to steal your credit.

To be honest, I don't mind whether you're on there or not. I'll take you're name off if you really want though. smiley - smiley

PS. Nearly there! Just need to check for more links! If anyone can help with that, I'd be REALLY grateful.

I was going to contribute some large sections, but I never get round to it (ended up writing an entry on Deep Purple, instead - work that one out if you will) - take my name off.

I wouldn't worry too much about the links. You're likely to get lots of advice as soon as you get into Peer Review, anyway. Just don't forget that PR are a hard-bitten bunch who enjoy being picky and rude about whatever you lay in front of them (and with all the sci-fi geeks on this site, there'll be a lot of picking, believe me). Don't get down, and don't forget you don't have to accept all their suggestions. smiley - smiley

I think this is just about ready to go, though. See you in PR! smiley - ok
