Ah Siht!

I was reading this before though : <./>http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/e/everton/3900703.stm</.>

Might shed some light on why it happened. Maybe a board room reshuffle, and Birch wasn't happy with his potential new position. smiley - erm

Where this leaves Everton though, is anyones guess. I'm not afraid to say I'm a bit worried...

the third man(temporary armistice)n strike)

Looks like Gregg is trying to assume control of the club. He's had a thinly veiled attack on Kenwright, and even Toffeeweb - which usually Backs Kenwright to the hilt - is implying it's time for a change.

Everyone on the board seems to be denying any power struggle, but it is difficult to believe that all the rumours in the press aren't being fuelled by Kenwright, Gregg and their respective supporters.

If there is a full-blown power struggle then there is clear water between the two sides. Kenwright's position seems to have originally been 'soldier on', but seems to be switching to 'sell Rooney now'. According to the Independant he has approached wealthy retailer Phillip Green, that would be a very long shot indeed. Green doesn't like to give his money away.
Gregg's position seems to be 'board places and shares for wealthy Evertonians'. This he hopes would raise the finance to settle the club's dire debt and provide funds for players. Gregg appears to have taken over Birch's position as CEO, he also is winning the battle amongst Evertonians with many fansite's now openly critical of Kenwright. Just a few weeks ago Gregg was the baddie of the board, but is handling himself with such aplomb and deftness he is beginning to take on Messianic overtones.
The pace of the struggle seems to be picking up, so far we seem to have had a few skirmishes, I think by Friday we shall see the real artillery boot in.
I think Gregg will win, hopefully without too much blood - and quickly!!

Well, Abercromby's resigned from the board, meaning we've lost a director, a chairman and two CEOs in the last two months.

I wonder if Kenwright's looked behind the fridge.

Oh,a nd according to yesterday's Indy, Kenwright's begging Phillip Green, his mate and the billionaire owner of British Home Stores, to invest oodles in the club.
