Counting
Who? Started conversation Oct 5, 2002
I have been keeping my 4¾ year-old son occupied by counting to five in different languages. This has a calming effect. This is also useful on a daily basis.
Try Welsh
Un, dau, tri, pedwar, pump.
Or French
Un, deux, trois, quatre, cinque
or German
eins, zwei, drei, vier, fünf
or Italian
uno, due, tres, quattro, cinque
(I just love the sound of cinque (chin-kway)
I shall certainly try one to five in Indonesian
Counting

How's about Hindi:
Ek, Doh, Tin, Chaa, Paanch, Ché, Saat, Aat, Nao, Das
or Tibetan:
Chig, Nyi, Soom, Shee, Nga, Took, Doon, Gyé, Goo, Choo
Always worthwhile knowing!!
