Prez HS (All seems relatively quiet here)

That is too little. Twelve days.
This H2G2 thing we're doing here, is supposed to be reporting on the things we see and experience in the 365 days times 70 or 80-odd years we live, but what is Alex going to report on?

I hope you havn´t been disappointed out of trying for another little researcher..

So I read on her page.
Good thing. Good thing.

A question I just asked myself: how high is the criterium used for Guide Entries that they have to be satirical, ironic or otherwise lightly humoristic? Is there room for deep dark cynicism, or actual serious philosophic remarks concerning, say, your own thoughts about your son/daughter's birth and what happened? I mean, you are involved with this project, meant for people who tend to stop and ponder over what they enounter in life, so with something as uprooting as this, would it be in order for you to publicise your thoughts here? Or say, cast them in a more general mold, such as an Entry on "Birth"? Is this a strange question? Is this man a mountain? -disregard that-

Our new editor is drawing up some guidelines for submissions. What we'd like to move towards is concentrating on the 'Guide' aspect. That means useful information. Things don't need to be funny (indeed, since it's actually very difficult to be funny, we'd rather people didn't try just because they think they have to).

As for philosophic mumblings, and things which don't really fit into the idea of a guidebook, they still have their place here, but maybe not as 'official' guide entries. It's a difficult task deciding what's in and what's out, and even some of our own 'official' entries aren't up to scratch. But over time, with everyone's help, I'm sure we'll make it.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
