A Conversation for Why Villains in Movies Have English Accents

I thought it odd that the strongest British accents in the Lord of the Rings movie were the orcs (not the Uruk-hai, they just kind of roar). Or was it just that they had some kind of strong, lower-class accent.
Does anyone here know what kind of accent the Orcs had? Or was it just a mish-mash?
