You've tried and, from an outsider's view, I think succeeded.

Thanks.
I've got a psrtial draft of another piece and will try improve it.
I'm probably better qualified to write about Fukushima and the powerplant crisis, but I want to describe the tsunami.

Yes Pinniped, you do that please. It will be welcome.
On the side, I looked up 'Azarashi-chan' and all I could find was 'a kind of seal' - but not (without getting exhaustive about it) what kind.
I take it that ~chan is an honorific, same as ~san? ( I was kugira-san for a couple of short weeks a while ago.
Anyway, whatever - well done. More please.

Yes, -chan is an honorific, used affectionately to young children or pets. When I posted the Hiroshima piece to h2g2 and sent my friend a link to it, he saw that I was known as Pinniped here and nicknamed me Azarashi-chan. I translate it as seal-child.
I'll post the tsunami story when I'm satisfied with it. Stay subscribed here and I'll post a link.
