I see that h2g2 smileys have a transparent background, so just to be sure: You need two versions (white/blue) with the background colour made transparent? (In the text you don't mentioned any transparency.)

I have pointed that out to Mina previously. Yes, the backgrounds to the smileys must be transparent and there are two versions of each smiley: one antialiased to white and the other to goo (#000066).
We worked through a list of smileys provided by the italics. We are not expecting another list for some time.

We did all the smileys on our last list. They were nearly all released a couple of weeks back. One or two have been held back for operational reasons.

Ah, I see. I thought you were talking about an internal list that hadn't been published so far. Anyway, when you need a racoon, mail me, I have a cute version lurking around here.

Cefpret, I'm afraid you'll only be able to do smileys if you're part of the Community Artist scheme. But you could volunteer.
Amy, I'm sorry - that must have got missed in the to-ing and fro-ing that this entry made between various people in the Towers. I'll add it now.

Mina, the problem is that I can't predict how much time I'll have. I once submitted a graphics for the HR diagram entry I had written (in both required variants) and you included it. For the *very* rare occasions when I have something to offer this probably is the better way, isn't it?
When will be the next list of smileys?

We'll have to see how it goes - now that the Community Artist scheme is running, we will only accept graphics from official volunteers.
We thought we might have a small winter collection of smileys, although that's not definite yet.
