Only stations with lifts have been closed down, so Euston should be okay...

it *was* a tourist bus, coleacant, and yes, I am well aware of the fact that we were *very* lucky with the weather. Very lucky indeed.
August and september that year London had not seen a cloud nor any drops of rain for *weeks*. Hyde Park was *yellow*, for Bob's sake, and everyone was talking about an ecological disaster and the world coming to an end and such.
We just enjoyed our ride
It started raining shortly after we left England

Frankie R, it's not just Euston that people might need information about. It's wherever they come *from* in order to get to Euston they might need to know about. Anyway, if Tube drivers walk out without notice - as they did last week - it makes no difference if it's a deep station or not. A whole line could shut down. I just suggested that GB put the TFL link on the page as a public information service.
Pierce, don't tell everyone we have nice weather in England sometimes! It will spoil our image. Did you feel cheated not to experience the authentic rain? Not to worry. It looks like we can arrange some for your visit this time.
GB, perhaps a map link on the page would help anyone not familiar with the area. http://www.streetmap.co.uk/streetmap.dll?G2M?X=529750&Y=182750&A=Y&Z=1 As you can see, its about 600-700 mtrs from Kings Cross.

A handy link to the pub might help too. It's got a picture of the outside. http://www.theheadofsteam.com/Euston.html

*waves to lurkers*
Gwennie
Thanks coely, I've added the links, although the "illegal use of ampersand" threw me a bit for early Sunday morning and I had to make a quick trip to the <./>GuideML-Clinic</.> to rectify it!
Looks now!
Pierce has already left for London, so unless he finds a cyber cafe, don't expect a reply!
6 days to go........

Frankie Roberto Posted Nov 17, 2002
Personally, I'll be drinking (adopt westcountry accent) CIDERRR....
And probably be getting rat-arsed with it too. Still, at-least I can walk home

Sure TC
What's London Pride, Gwennie?
I haven't been inside a pub since the last meet-up in Manchester.
London Meeting
NexusSeven Posted Nov 19, 2002
London Pride is (by London standards) a fairly tasty ale.

Will I have to arrive with an H2G2 badge or something so people know who I am. Otherwise they may think I am just some strange stalker hanging around their table. Actually they may think that anyway!! HE! He!
London Meeting
Frankie Roberto Posted Nov 19, 2002
I'll wear my t-shirt and be there a bit early so you can recognise me.

hi people
arrived safe and sound in london sunday - the trip took four times longer than scheduled though due to a luggage worker strike in copenhagen. in the end we had to board the varig nightfligt to rio de janeiro
unfortunately we were thrown off the plane in heathrow, but hey, that's where i wanted to go in the first place, so there...
i have already tried fullers london pride and can reccommend its taste - *not* its lack of carbondioxide though . i have also tried a few other brews. bottled kingfisher from india was a nice surprise. and of course guinness never fails to succeed
see you saturday - provided you avoid the stations closed because of the firefighters strike

*Glad Frankie will be wearing his t-shirt.!
Can't begin to imagine him without it! Although in summer he had a red and white check number on, as far as I remember.

Frankie Roberto Posted Nov 19, 2002
Red and white check? hmm... was that me?
what time we planning on getting there from then?

Munchkin Posted Nov 20, 2002
Yay! looks like I am almost definately going to be along now. Sadly I will need to incorporate some Christmas Shopping into the early part of the day and so will probably be as grumpy as Jack Lemmon.
