h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

It seems like a fair place to post would be the BBC Online blog. It shouldn't be off-topic if we can find a blog posting about BBC Online sites being closed, for example.

IMO it's not about attracting or retaining people to the Guide, it's about attracting and retaining people to the site of h2g2 which is guide and community entwined.

It's really starting to bother me how much h2g2 is being reframed as the Guide. I mean, it is the guide obviously, but it's not the EG alone and there's the risk here that the community stuff will get lost.

By the way - Wandring Star did an awesome precis of this thread - I need to get it up into Google Docs. Another to-do for to-night.

kea, it's a good point. We should all try very hard to use the correct word to avoid confusion.

Here is how I've been trying to use them at least while I'm awake and alert:
Guide = EG + UG + The Post
h2g2 = Guide + the rest of the site
h2g2 Community means all of us who use the site
