I think you met on easter Mondy, it was my mum's birthday, so I didn't go. Btw, Sho, MazinMadFiddler <./>U236774</.> will come if he'll get time off work, book a flight etc.

If I know long enough in advance, perhaps I could accommodate a Tuesday. It's just that that's the day I have the most work and it has to get done on the Tuesday. With enough warning, it could possibly be done.
So please carry on - I'll just fit in. My husband might begrudge me Easter Sunday, though, because that's our Wedding Anniversary. The 29th!!!
Am I mad? Going to 3 meets in 3 months?

I know, Tuesday is the day when we get all the deliveries, so I'm usually very busy on Tuesdays, but guess I can get it off if I know it early enough.
Which other meet will you go to ?

Sho - employed again! Posted Jan 6, 2006
well, as long as we have somewhere to sit & chat, or walk and chat.
TC, last year we met on the Tuesday after Easter Monday. I'll never ever forget that!

the reason I'm so keen on the Tuesday, is that it is easier for me to take that day off
Or the Thursday before Good Friday, would be good, or the Monday of that week (Monday = 10th April, Thursday = 13th April, Tuesday = 18th April)
MMF will be put on the list of possibles

I'd prefer Thursday before Good Friday, cause I'm off every Thursday, and will be off Good Friday anyway. And the Saturday, Sunday and easter Monday

ok, how abut I put a choice of dates on the entry, and we ask for votes?

Good idea. What do you think how long should we wait before counting them ?

Sho - employed again! Posted Jan 6, 2006
how about we try to get a date/location fixed by 31st January? Long enough to advertise, and long enough in advance of the probable time for people to book the best priced tickets / time off work.
I've only ever done relatively spontaneous tiny meets before. This is exciting and daunting at the same time

Hello all!
Can I just say that I want to actually fly in on Tuesday afternoon (no availability on Easter Monday) so I'm going to miss any afternoon activity.
I would, however, like to stay for more than one night...don't mind sleeping in more than one location, and would like to be able to go out somewhere on Wednesday...anyone got any thoughts, suggestions, offers of hospitality . I know this is difficult for you as you all have families, jobs, and lives (outside of h2g2, so I've heard! )

No probs to stay with us for as long as you want to stay, I'll better take the whole week off work then, then I'll have time to show you around a bit Afternoon activity is optional, and depends on when people will arrive anyway, cause as I'm the only one living in Frankfurt, I guess I should fetch you all from the airport.

Sho - employed again! Posted Jan 8, 2006
well, do you have to fly back from FRA?
On the other hand, I might be able to stay one night down there ( should be taking the Gruesomes to the UK that week, so I am totally free...) if you fancied mooching around on Wednesday morning

Yeah, I do, the deal on BA is only on a simple "allez-et-retour" ticket, so I have to leave from the same airport I arrive at. How far are you from Frankfurt anyway, Sho? I might make a week of it if people are prepared to put me up, and put up with me, over a number of days...I've never really been to Germany on an extended stay so I'd like to explore the possibility.

I live about 2 hours by fast train from Frankfurt.
you would be very welcome to come up here, I'm within spitting distance of Köln and Düsseldorf.
However, I am not sure how many days off I can get. Tuesday deffo, and probably Wednesday. After that it will involve lots of and long discussions with

You're welcome to stay here for a week, I'm sure I'll be able to arrange time off, and if not, I only work till 1.00pm anyway, and am free afterwards.

OK, here's a thought, I could fly in to Frankfurt and stay with B'El on Tuesday night for the meet, spend Wednesday afternoon with B'E'l, get an evening train up to Sho, go out (or stay in) Wednesday night, head back to Frankfurt for one or two days on Thursday...?
