Ummm... How do we verify that someone is really as old as they say they are ?

We can't. Even asking for a parent's email for verification would be pretty useless - setting up a second email and h2g2 account is so easy.
Perhaps we could state something, that you must be (old enough - 14? 15?) and must take responsibility for your actions, and be treated as an adult. I don't know.

Or... When signing up as a Researcher the applicant has to tick a box stating "I hereby certify that I am 16 years of age or older" and link to a paragraph in the Terms & Regulations bit on-site.
That's how a lot of sites do it nowadays.
