I want this entery to be a good base for other enteries about Latvia. At the moment Latvia has no enteries in the Edited Guide, which is quite sad.
The entery now should be good enought to be a base entery for the country, but many more eneries linked from this one are needed for some real help for users of the Guide.

You chose wisely to enter this in the Writing Workshop. People are generally kinder here than in Peer Review.

I agree that The Guide needs an edited entry on Latvia, and you, being a resident, are just the person to write it. Unfortunately, what you have here is not quite enough.

First of all you should remove all first person pronouns (I, me, etc.) as they are not allowed in edited entries. Same for smileys.

An edited entry on Latvia will need headers and paragraphs on things like History, Culture, Sights, and so on

People do post here for advice, and I have two suggestions for you.

1. Don't try to do too much at once. Instead of trying to write about the whole country first, write an entry on a particular topic, and see how it goes. Start perhaps with where you live, or somewhere else that you know well and have personal experience of.

2. Take a look at <./>C45</.> There you will find links to edited entries on places in Europe. Read some of these, this will give you an idea of the sort of thing that gets into the Edited Guide.

3. (I can't count ) Take a look at the EditedGuide-Guidelines and follow the links from there. It's a great source of information on writing for this site.

Welcome to the WW, I agree with that Greek-sounding chappy ( Theanthrope) that you did the right thing coming here first.

I also agree that your best bet to find out what is expected of an entry on a country is to take a look in the edited guide (follow Bels' link or look on the Front page).

by the way, if you add a few words of introduction to your home-space/User-page then a friendly ACE will drop by and give you a big welcome and a bunch of useful info about the site generally. Not to mention being ready to answer any questions you might have.

It seems unlikely that the author will return, as their only act on h2g2 has been to submit this entry. I therefore thing that the entry should be moved to the flea market, even though it hasn't been 2 months yet.

Any scout want to second this?

I'd say let's wait those 2 weeks. After all, the Workshop isn't that crowded as PR is.

Had no Inet connection for few month :P
I will redo the page according to recomendations next week and then resubmit to the Workshop.
