I have been writing poems since I was a teenager. Some for fun, and some to vent my feelings. When My children were born I wrote a poem each time. As the grew up I wrote some to make them laugh. If I look back on some of those I wrote in anger, I can still see how I was feeling at the time of writing.
I recently re married, and a poem I wrote over 14 years ago for my children was read out at the service by my new husbands daughter.(to the embarrasment of me!!)
So poetry has meaning for everyone, whether it is written by the individual and read by someone else, or just kept as a memory.
