Do we need to travel? An emphatic yes! People will surely want to meet, to work together, to learn, to explore far afield. All that means travel. Looking at experience on the planet Earth, for example, we can see what we don't want. We do not want to burn finite resources just to provide a fleeting facility. Thus we either need lots of bicycles... or to invent some new form of propulsion.
