I don't think he really came close to Dixie. i think Lineker scored about 40 or so, Dixie's record was 60.

As regards Liverpool FC, you have to have a bit of balance. After all isnt that waht PR is all about.

I think a mention of the John Moores connection might be interesting. After all Everton established themselves in the sixties as Britain's biggest and richest club i.e. 'Tne Mersey Millionaires' and 'The Bank of England Club'. Remember when the 1966 World Cup was staged in England Goodison was the biggest ground in England after Wembley and got the pick of the non-Wembley games.

I did promise some comments, so here's one or two:
In terms of nicknames, the "School of Science" needs a mention, as well as much more recent "People's Club".
Apparently, William Dean hated being called "Dixie". I've heard he was called Dixie because he had slightly darker skin, so it's not something that a player would be called today. There's a good section about Everton legends at toffeeweb.com, btw.
Everton also have the record for the most top flight points earned, and (obviously) 100 seasons in the top flight. The FA cup semi-final record certainly used to be Everton's, but I'm not sure anymore!

Done . The reason it was called Football : Everton FC, was many moons ago when I first embarked on this project (an have on/off added to), was that I thought that you had to find an original title, that isn't anywhere on the guide (not just the edited one). When I searched the whole guide, I found a small article about Everton Football Club. Though at the time I didn't realise that it was only edited entries that that applies to... More of my life history later. I plan to do some more tommorow.

I would be greatful of any assistance by fellow Evertonians in completing this article, as I believe with my current commitments I am not capable of doing the article about this great club justice.

By 'assistance' do you mean one of us write it?
A810406 - Football : Everton FC
Terran Posted Oct 21, 2002
No I mean write articles that I can add to the text, and in which we all would be listed researchers. I know it seems a bit of a cop out, but I think its the best way to do this. It is Everton Football "club", so why not have more than one person doing the article.
