<scientist>Ackeret Principle(a.k.a.,)Laws for Lift and Drag of Sharp slender profiles in Supersonic flow:

**************** 1 - (1-t) 2w/c
v/w _________________________

************ wc.11 + (1-t) 2w/c 1

(v = velocity, w = speed of jet, c = speed of light,

t = fuel load @ launching)

1925 by Professor Jakob Ackeret (1898-1981) Swiss scientist and engineer.

The founder of Institut fur Aerodynamik-The Institute of Fluid Dynamics.

He was also the inventor of the Closed Circut Gas Turbine and wind tunnel technology.

Pioneered the field of fluid mechanics and gas dynamics.

Introduced the now familiar term: "Mach number" for the ratio of flow velocity to the speed of sound.
