At last, part four of the series. I just hope it was worth the wait...

No time to read the whole thing right through at the moment, but one thing that i noticed near the beginning was that in the first paragraph of 'The Brosnan Years' you refer to Pierce Brosnan as 'Pierce' a number of times. I think it's standard practice to refer to people by either their whole name or just their surname, rather than just their first.
That's just a small nitpick though

You're right, it is a small nitpick
Throughout the articles, the Bonds are referred to by first name (at least, I think they are... might have to check!), and everyone else is referred to by surname. Just a little stylistic thing, I suppose. I'd quite like to leave it, but if everyone objects, I'll change it! Alternatively, the subeditor can do it for me

Well, just finished reading through ALL of your entries on this - utterly superb
Just two points on this - one general and one specific to this entry.
In Goldeneye and TWINE, Michael Kitchen (star of To Play The King) plays Chief of Staff Bill Tanner, while from Tomorrow Never Dies onwards, actor Colin Salmon is seen as part of M's wider entourage.
Generally, it'd be nice to see a little bit on the theme tunes, surely a major part of the whole series. John Barry plays a significant role in all of the films until Licence to Kill, after which David Arnold took over, rearranging the intro music as well (which you mention) as well as looking after whichever artist had been chosen to sing the theme song.
I think I'm right in saying that Tomorrow Never Dies was originally called Tomorrow Never *Lies*, but a serendipitous typo on a memo saw to the name-change. Originally Pulp were due to do the theme tune but were replaced by Sheryl Crowe (a reworking of their song, 'Tomorrow Never Lies', appeared as the b-side for their single 'Help the Aged').
I know this is already huge, so if you don't want to add any more to it, ignore me - or write a separate entry on the music (if you're not thoroughly sick of Bond by now )
Hmm... the 40th Anniversay of the London release of the film falls on 5 October...
Not promising anything, but...

OK... done the easy bits
Theme tunes... Adding something about each and every one will make the article enormous
*sigh* I shall write a separate article on the subject... but it might take a while!
Many, many thanks for all your comments - you must have spent as long on this as I did

Actually, I was thinking maybe just a collection of facts at the bottom of each film, like:
Music: 'Tomorrow Never Dies' by Sheryl Crow (opening titles)
'Surrender' by kd lang (closing credits)
Sumfink like that?

Nah, I've started on the full 'James Bond Themes' entry now...
(And, as any scientist will tell you, it's not the quality of the papers, it's the number of papers that you write that's important )
Well, when I say 'started', I've created a blank Guide entry, but that's just as a reminder to get on with it. Should be interesting anyway (and it's something for me to plug at the Musicians' Guild as well )

I thought "GoldenEye" had the "E" as a capital - annoying, but there you go.
Perhaps worth mentioning is the Teaser Poster controversy. The original posters contained the words:
"There Is No Substitute:
Christmas 1995"
and, when folded in half, the caption read:
"There Is No
Christ"
which a few people complained at. Strange, but true....

Thanks BB - it *is* 'GoldenEye'. I think I've managed to change all references to it. I've also put in a footnote about the teaser poster. Amazing what some people can find time to complain about

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!
