Oh gosh, I hadn't even thought of it. Erm, can we assume that this is a different fellow? One in another reality?

Unfortunately, we are functioning in another reality...the BBC's.

I'm afraid that is incorrect. Paul signed a Northern Songs Limited contract that expired when he was sixty. He is now over 60. And, as far as I know, it has not been renued. John also signed and he would have been over sixty a few years back.

The Northern Songs catalog has been owned by Micheal Jackson for quite some time.
Just as the Buddy Holly catalog was bought by Sir McCartney.
The terms of copyright are usually life+ so many years.
Contracts do limit copyright in some cases, but the rights are then transferred to another party.
Apparently there are also grounds for renewal in some cases.
Irving Berlin's family and Disney were in a big row about this recently.
It will be quite some time before the Beatles' songs are public domain.

Good God no! Perhaps I can write a disclaimer saying that I am not making any money off of it. Yes, I think that's alright. I can put down the words as long as no one makes money off of it. Or, I could wright that it was the first thing that came to mind and that I was simply writing what I thought. Is it illeagal to say Strawbery Fields Forever? Or We all live in the Yellow Submarine?

Well, you said in the piece that that is where the story all began...I assumed there was a story to be told?

Well, as I noted in the brief description, it is not done enough even to give a brief description. So, yes, it is just beginning. I will (was) write what happened to Mean Mr. Mustard.
