Indeed - but wouldn't a bit of explanations be in order?
As can be seen on the Mother Page (A769395), there are loads of Rule Amendments in play "unless otherwise stated". Now, nobody specifically stated anything - but in Stovold's general entry on Beginner's Games, roughly the first half of these are not to be used in such games. Reverse bidding, by reverse analogy, generally is - while the only rule generally acknowledged in just about all rule dissertations to be surely unusable in Beginner's Play is the 1857 Port Cork Counterclockwise move.
Which doesn't help as it's largely unusable anyway.
So all the nidding and spooning above can only be seen as a sudden tightening, I concur.
And so, to avoid Reverse-Badgering -

The mistake move to nowhere only a high level player can take it off, I've not been playing long i don't rank as mystic enough to pull off the non-move.

Is it just me - or was the chapter on non-moves in Stovold's dramatically shortened from the 16th to the 17th edition?
