ESP and all that

I always thought ESP was a function found on personal CD players to stop you jumping when they go jogging? Or something like that.
Extremely Slim Propability
Roy, Not Marvin Posted May 31, 1999
Personal CD-players don't jog, or that's what they want us to think. ESP actually is Internet-terminology, and stands for Extremely Slim Propability. This is rather frequent phenomenon, most of the time directly related to the never-seen-before-message 'WFP' (Windows Functioning Properly)

But even more rare is the U.W.A.C. msg. I have not had the pleasant good fortune to actualy see this message. It means
User With A Clue. There are no documented cases of this. I can only hope that one day through great research and good luck we will find one.

Peregrin, my friend, I am afraid you are wrong. ESP is not a personal CD option, and nor is it related to the internet. It is also not the name of the Millenium Virus.
It is, in fact, a failed attempt to cross the video machine with a record player before DVD came along. You remember on old record players (things with big black plate things) you had
LPs and EPs, and on all modern video machines you have Standard Play and Long Play (LP and SP), well, obviously ESP is an attempt to combine the two for a superior viewing experience,
provided there's no scratches.

I've been here a lot - I just meant that 32 weeks ago, this was the 3rd conversation I entered, and it moer or less died on me. Except, alas, I've been away a month. Still, I'm back now!

oops. sorry about the misunderstanding. i'm fairly new here. anyway, i'm glad you're back. would you like a choccy ? i think there should be more oak trees everywhere. we have some beautiful, old oaks in the woods behind our house. they support lots of wildlife.@

Don't get me wrong I do love this place, I just thought I would get very bored with it. I have never been happier to be wrong about my first feelings.

I'm not sure if it'll work here as everyone spends far too much time online for any phonecalls to get through...
