there's a whole heap of stuff to be said about zappa, tho one thing that sticks in my mind is that back in the 80's when i used to buy the music papers melody maker, nme and sounds that in one (which one i cant remember) the best drummer was Rat Scabies from the Damned, year after year the same guy, very good skin basher at that...the other guy that appeared year after year was in the best gutarist slot...not Clapton, or
Townshend not even Knopfler,....no the best guitarist was always Mr Frank Zappa, Zappa played natural see, no fancy tricks, just pure, blistering, spitfire type attacks on your ears....respect is due for the man with the SG, not just avant garde beardy weirdo but guitar supremo worthy of axe king status.......my guitar wants to kill you mamma.........bo0-wang, make way for the iron starfish...*

Finally someone who I can agree with. Zappa was a true genius and one of the hottest guitarists there ever was. It's too bad people only remember him for his funny lines which I have to assume is why he never got any airplay.
