Confucius once is reported to have said "may you live in interesting times" as a not welcomed state.I have lived through "McCarthyism " and Japanese-American internment in America knowing of people who lost careers and futures to public hysteria and political opportunism. It speaks well of anglo-american society that many of us do not worry if our lives are monitered beyond the judicially determined paramiters of public safety but our "Bill of Rights" was erectd against the governments power to unreasonably deprive of us of our live, liberty and our privacy.
