Lovely to see this progress (from an old timer)

hiya, I was just checking in to h2g2 as I sometimes do and have to say I'm delighted by the updates. The frontpage is well chosen and I like the dolphins! I hope you can retain the magic of the early h2g2 with its wonderful connections and wildly innacurate advice, while maintaining some relevance in twentyelevenses and beyond.

Only minor query - is the beta missing the 'who's online' link for a reason? It is one of the most important links, surely?

I am usually a full time lurker, and had heard from my good pal happydude that it may be tricky for oldsters to login, but am pleased to see that I can still post. Just wanted to delurk for a quick while to thank the team behind this for their fine efforts, and say a quick hello and happy new year to all.

big love,

The H2G2 Editors

Lovely to hear from you, purplejenny. And glad you like the redesign. In answer to your question, Who's Online will be retired on the new site but we're hoping to replace it with something even better. Hopefully all will become clear when the full version of the new site launches in January. Thanks for your comments and a very happy new year to you too. smiley - ok
