Another of those daft Italics-challenge-each-other-on-a-random-topic entries.
America had Robert Redford. We had Robin Askwith...

Another excellent entry...
One tiny little nitpick though. Where you've linked to the film "If..." is it worth putting the film title into "" ? I know it shouldn't be necessary but it would give us old fogies a bigger target to aim for when we're clicking on the link and if instead of saying
Lindsay Anderson's If...
you changed it to
If... by Lindsay Anderson
It might make things a little clearer that there were in fact two separate links
Apart from that, I'm extremely disappointed coz I can't find anything to winge about

It's a tricky one that, Whisky. There are two links, one to the BBC page on Mr Anderson, the other to an h2g2 article on the Free Cinema Movement. If it helps though, you can always click the link on the side-bar instead...
Ta for the comments. It was a bit of a difficult one to do really. But at least I've *finally* written a short entry.

Actually, young Ms_prefect has an entry on Anderson himself, at A648344. Also, the name of the WWII film is U-571, not whatever rubbish you've written

What's the emoticon for "raises handbag and goes oooOOOHH!"?
Got that link now, thanks, and I'm glad someone spotted the U-571 thing before it was scouted. The lengths us writers have to go to to check their work is actually being read
(in other words, I mistyped it)

The one thing I know about Robin Askwith which isn't included is that his interest in swimming originated with illness in his youth. He suffered from poliomyelitis as a child, and swimming was prescribed as part of his physical therapy. He became incredibly fit as a result - his resting heart rate was just forty five beats per minute.

The things we pick up along the way, eh? i must have a mind full of useless information, but ask me to put up a shelf or do anything practical and I'm lost!
Congratulations - Your Entry has been Picked for the Edited Guide!

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!

Hello, Jimster; hello, Peer Reviewers!
I'm just popping in with the standard link - A769287 - and note to say, cheers, good entry, and that I've been subbing it.
I think I'm pretty much done, and I don't think I've ever seen so many s and s in one place before. It's like a GuideML obstacle course. Good fun. (Nesting tags properly should be a drinking game at meet-ups, doncha think?)
Anyway, feel free to check up on my work. Any comments, corrections, or complaints can be directed to me, here, and I'll react predictably. Barring unforseens (changes to make, imdb goes offline, premature heat-death of universe), I should be submitting it to the Towers (back into the hands of the author - touché) within a day or two.
