For your interest and listening pleasure may I present the (very) unfinished 10th of Beethoven

Thanks shazz.
My ear finds it difficult to extrapolate a symphony from a single keyboard. It starts off rather briskly and proud like Bach at his most clever and complex. About four minutes into it I started hearing echoes of pianist Dudley Moore and a tingling in my funny bone, although whether real or imagined we'll never know.
Constructing a symphony from scattered scraps of notes is like trying to create a new violin from the shavings and sweepings off the floor of Strativarius' workshop.
That was fun.
A real treat.

I know exactly what you mean jwf
My rather crude attempts at composition started off with the best of intentions and invariably ended up as so much crumpled wastepaper in the bin of life.
Ah well, having been (for my sins and many moons ago) a Church Organist and Choirmistress - go on you lot... see if you can find a pun/joke/wisecrack I haven't heard - I did manage to get my setting of the series 2 communion service performed on a regular basis. The poor congregation were somewhat bemused by my interweaving of the styles of Buxtehude, Bach, Rutter and the Beatles, with even a tinge of Supertramp thrown in for good measure, but played along gamely week after week.

*at least she didn't mention Emmerson, Lake or Palmer*
FYI: By the strangest of coincidences there is a link on that link which goes to the Classical Archives Website (again thank you!) and among their 19,000 and 1 musical offerings is a "24/7 Radio Station", which just happens to be a channel on '365 radio' and being a subscriber to '365' (so I can hear HHGTTG anytime) I clicked on their Classical Archives Radio button and guess what was currently playing?
Yep, Beethoven's Ninth!
