...nice to see the old traditions being kept alive!
Another pecularity (at my school, anyway) was the 'Bundle'. It seemed to drift in and out of fashion (probably as it was banned and re-banned by the school) but it involved everybody jumping on an unfortunate pupil who had fallen over on the school field. The clarion call 'Buuuundle' was shouted, and then everybody in earshot would sprint towards the victim in an attempt to jump on him before he could get to his feet.
I found myself bundled once. I was laughing so much I scarcely noticed the dozen or so eight years olds on top of me.
