Hi Serephina... overall, nice entry. My usual couple of quibbles (I apologise if they came up during the previous PR thread and were addressed, I skim-read it, so may have missed something)
I should also point out my slight bias with a degree in Geology, hope you won't hold that against me?
'Some say this is due to its unique structure'
Is this referring to the chemical (eg. atomic) structure of the SiO2 or the classic hexagonal crystal most people think of?
'Quartz is usually clear, available in many shapes and sizes from small clusters to large geodes and is easily obtainable worldwide'
I doubt you want to get into this much detail on an entry on the therapeutic properties, buuuuttttt...
Quartz may be transparent, translucent, or opaque; it may be colourless or coloured.
Quartz is usually classified as crystalline (eg amethyst, rose quartz, smokey quartz) and cryptocrystalline (chalcedony, flint and chert). Technically, agate and onyx are quartz, though not the transparent/translucent crystals I think you're concentrating on in this entry.
I think you should include amethyst as one of the "other varieties" at least: it's reasonably common, and (I understand) used as a healing stone.
psychlogically --> psychologically
Please feel free to ignore all of this, my experience with complementary therapies is limited.

Just reading through the comments here again
I'd rather leave ading any more technichal information if thats ok? Though I will add a bit more about quartz also being opaque etc.
Ameethyst is indeed used as a healing stone , but it has sub varitites itself and would maybe warrant its own entry?

Hi Serephina,
I'm likely to get some flak here however is there any 'scientific' evidence to support any of the claims made in terms of healing properties or is it more a case of 'mind over matter'?
Appears to be a lot of 'it is alledged' or is 'thought to be' rather than any solid fact.
just my worth. Feel free to ignore obviously.
ST.

It's written that way because as with other complimentary therapies like homeopathy and aromatherapy, there is little scientific evidence as to why it works, but then there are a lot of things science knows little about so far

Interesting stuff, but as always some suggetions;
Maybe some more science-based info for balance?
Some tags around your LI tags will help space it out and be easier to read.
Some EG links! (My own little bugbear).

I was trying to steer clear of the science side as much as possible as there is so littke of it yet. I hope i've mde it clear that im presenting belief rather tan any sort of proven fact though.

Perhaps you could talk about Reiki? (?sp) I think some practiotioners of that use crystals.

Any more suggestions? criticisms?

You say that there is little to no scientific evidence that the use of crystals in therapy works. Is there actually any evidence at all? I've certainly not heard of any clinical trials that have taken place.
I think a better approach would be to say that whilst there is no medical evidence for its efficacy, there is the well known and definitely real placebo effect that comes into play with these sorts of therapies, and that it is in this that the therapy's strength lies.
In short: if you think that something is going to make you better, then there is a good chance that you'll feel better even if what ever it is you're doing to yourself has absolutely no effect what so ever.
