Gnomon - time to move on

FABT, I keep my own personal list of Edited Entries I have written. I'd only count this as one, whether it is split or not. There seems to be an editorial guideline that long entries should be split. I'll go along with it if that is what the editors want.

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.

If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.

Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!

Great article, really informative!

My only comment would be that many archaeologists and scholars have considered the possibility that the Minoan civilisation could have been the real-life inspiration for Plato's Atlantis. And in a study of his text and historical fact, I too believe that maybe he had a point there... smiley - smiley

Mind you, with the huuuuge amount of info behind it, you could probably create another Guide entry with it!

You'll already find this theory discussed in my Santorini article. I didn't want to go over most of that ground again.

You're right. That's what I get for trying to be a smart alec, sorry smiley - flustered

I love the Santorini article too - ancient civilisations, especially around the Med, really interest me. I have this fantastic book called Imagining Atlantis which takes all the arguments for and against the existence of Atlantis, and goes into a lot of detail about the Minoans and Santorini. I especially loved the theory that the big volcano eruption that would have caused a tidal wave could well justify the story of Moses and the Red Sea...
