I am crazy about poker and think a lot of people play the game hardly knowing about the most important skill: BLUFFING. I hope this helps people learn how.

Okey-dokey, Dont't Panic!
Welcome to h2g2...
... chillin'? Ok. Good.
You have doven right in there and good on you.
I commented on another thread, but it looks like this is the right one. Afterwards, I had second thoughts about this and had a peak at your space - as I suspected you are a recent arrival.
No condescension intended... honest!
This is a promising piece that could easily either go into the edited guide or produce several good entries, in fact.
Are you keen to have a go at guide ML? If not, like i said elsewhere, it doesn't matter - the sub-eds are good at that.
So, cool piece. I still think you could expand it into more than one piece, coz there is more to say on the different stages of play and strategies to describe.
But then this is a good overview, in many ways...
Perhaps I feel the title is too *specific*. Not sure what I mean...
good luck with it,
spiff

Hello. I really liked, good subject and quite detailed.
Maybe some links to "how to play poker" pages could be added. http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/alabaster/A604423 it the edited one in the guide. If this is edited you could apply for getting your page linked to that one.
Of course as this is about "bluffing" in poker, the reader is assumed to know the aim of the game, how to gamble, the rules etc. But maybe a bit more detail (or footnotes) describing terms you use.
e.g. "dealer may think you are folding)" what's folding?
What do you think?
Have a look at guideML it's really easy, it just seems strange at the start.

Oh, yeah, I meant to mention some of the potential links...
Thanks Sal!
An h2g2 research throws up quite a few, but Sal's one is an excellent basic guide to 'how play works'.
The main ommission is any mention of my personal favourite variation (and most serious players preferred format), Texas Hold 'Em. That's the game played in most casino poker rooms, and the game for which the prestigious World Series is contested.
The World Series is being played out *as we speak* !! In Binions Las Vegas! May is a big month for the poker world, and you can be sure all the series players are in Nevada right now, whether playing or checking out the field, but basically both.

Hello
Glad you liked my how to play poker entry. Sorry to have missed texan holdem but I had to keep the number of variations down as it would have been too large otherwise.
Hate to point this out but if you want it in the guide you can only link to entries that have already been edited.

Hi Chartered Streets!
This looks interesting and a potentially good entry.
In order to be edited, it needs to be written in the third person, so you'll need to revise it. Shouldn't be too difficult.
What may need a longer rethink, though, is that you are assuming that people know how to play poker or what the terms mean. For instance, you use the word 'pull' at lot. I've not the faintest idea what that means. Is it like folding?
I also spotted a typo: definately > definitely.

Your Guide Entry has just been picked from Peer Review by one of our Scouts, and is now heading off into the Editorial Process, which ends with publication in the Edited Guide. We've therefore moved this Review Conversation out of Peer Review and to the entry itself.
If you'd like to know what happens now, check out the page on 'What Happens after your Entry has been Recommended?' at EditedGuide-Process. We hope this explains everything.
Thanks for contributing to the Edited Guide!
