h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

So, the world cup's over, and so is world cup fantasy football for another four years. Ormondroyd emerged from Otto's shadow to clinch the title, Otto started badly but came back, Robin leapt up to second on bonus points, my good friend Alfredo Marquez, who I persuaded to enter this competition when we were at a Durham cricket match together, probably wishes he'd ignored me. Jack Naples, spook, manda and Robin also took part in the fantasy football for the first time, and Robin in particular was very impressive. Nitpicker and Demon drawer returned to the game having not taken part in season two, and my old adversaries such as GreyDesk, vogonpoet, Otto and the triumphant Ormy were all re-assembled for this third fantasy football competition. I hope I'll see you all reporting for h2g2 Fantasy Football 4- The search for West Bromwich, which I'm planning to start in August, or maybe September.

This world cup saw the favourites struggle, but a team who are always there or thereabouts ended up winning. We saw Otto, the god of earlier fantasy footballs, struggling with Alfredo down the bottom for a couple of weeks before finally moving up.

thanks for organising the whole thing it certainly added an extra dimension to the enjoyment of the tournament.

I will say in my own defence that I did miss the second round of group one predictions - but for that it would have been a lot closer!

At last! At last! After being runner-up twice, I get to win! (Sheds Ronaldo-like of joy) As a Bradford City supporter I'm not used to championship victories, but this feels good!

Thank you, Egon, for doing a great job in organising this tournament and adding a lot of fun to the World Cup. I look forward to defending my title in Series 4!

Can we ensure that Bradford is one of the teams each week in that case then we can ensure that everyone bar Ormy will get the point for the result on that one.
