I don't know if the title is appropriate, does this actually tell you how to be funny?

Since I read your article, please read mine (A756614 - Chain Stories) cos I'm not patient enough to wait for people to read it of their own free will.

See you Jimmy, . Gettit... ? Gettit... ? No... ?
Hi Olsen (gettit, Jimmy... Olsen... No? *shakes head sadly at the grim resounding silence* Maybe I'm trying too hard...)
Hmm, this is a strange kindofa thing, really. You seem to make some rather, well, sweeping statements about what 'we' 'all' find funny.
I mean, just taking the (impressively dramatic, ) opening. Well, all well and good, but not everybody would probably actually find that sentence inherently funny. There's a whole load of cultural association stuff going on there that you are taking for granted.
Well, don't want to get all down on this piece for no reason. You've got a writing style and I don't want to put you off writing for fun. Go for it.
The WW is a bit of an odd kind of place, coz not many researchers actually come on here, read stuff and give feedback. Not sure why, it has just never worked, i think. Ask Bossel, if you're interested, he knows about that kind of thing.
There is always the AWW - Writing-Alternative - where you can post anything at all (within the limits of a 'family' website, of course !), no matter how whacky, of the wall, personal, subjective, etc.
Anything goes!
I'm not shunting this piece off there, or suggesting you do. Just pointing it out for future reference.
Course, you might say some of the stuff posted in there is guily of 'trying to be funny'. But then, if you don't try, you obviously won't write anything funny, coz you won't write anything at all, will you?
Anyway, I came, I read, I ummed and ahhed a bit but basically i felt this was rather negative in tone, with perhaps just a tinge of boorish arrogance about it!
Well, maybe 'boorish arrogance' is a bit over the top, but you know, telling everyone else how to be funny is maybe not the best way to endear yourself to others...
just a thought,
seeya
