Rip off BBC

I'm afraid that's the kind of thing you can expect from the rip off BBC. You have to pay £110 to watch the BBC, but you still have to pay the BBC £110 even if you don't watch them and watch indipendant T.V. instead. Also a certain amount of the money you pay as a fee goes towards to creation of BBC Digital channels, so you have to pay for the same service twice by signing onto cable or satellite before you can watch the programmes you've already paid for. I know you can get those new top boxes for £100 or so that allow you to pick up the free channels, but not where I live (the transmitters are too crap to let us recieve any pictures), so the only option I have is to pay out for sky or cable.
Am I the only one who thinks this is wrong ? Why do I have to pay twice for a service ? I've already paid for the digital channels so why the hell can't I watch them ?
I can't help feeling the BBC only really cares about lining the pockets of it's big bosses, and very little about giving value for money to the people out there - me and you - who fund it.
Oh, and by hitting "Post Message" i give the BBC permission to use my contribution in a variety of ways. What's the chance they'll take notice and actually do something about my complaint ? just about nil I would say.

hi...

the TV licence happens to be my pet-hate too [well one of them]
on top of what you both said the licence is actually for the right to own a TV set... meaning that EVEN if you only watch videos you still have to pay the BBC for that...

talk later
