I have mentioned before how impressed I have been by the mixed media elements you incorporate in your 'drawings'. It gives you a sense of 'command' over the real world.
The image in the picture frame on the back wall -
At first I saw the a city skyline. Recently habituated reflexes read it as NY. Then 'Stonehenge', at which point I became very aware of its presence and tried to look more closely. I'm always looking for too much meaning that isn't always there.
And then finally it settled into merely being the abstracted 'just a picture on the wall' you probably intended. It gives a touch of 'reality' to the scene and 'completes' the ambience of the room. TV and computer repair shops usually have all the 'hominess' of a cheap hotel room or a muffler-fitters waiting-room don't they.
This element is one of those you 'import' into your drawings is it?
From a photo? Another original drawing?

Well spotted!

should answer things.
I wondered what I would put in the frame - not too representative, not too abstract. But recent events on telly made me think of this.

Looking at this cartoon again makes me wonder, Wowbagger, if you haven't been playing one of those Civilisation type computer games where the world is revealed to you as you travel through it. Here we see Wowbagger's world revealed to us as he travels through it, like h2g2 Life in general. Plus, of course, the joke works better this way.
I often ponder that thorny topic of 'reading too much in' jwf. But if you see a meaning in something, you can't unsee it just because it wasn't intended. We all see the world, like Wowbagger, through a filter. ('Course, my filter would have spotted the beer first and then, much later, the computer or picture).

But did I read too much into it?
No I don't think so.
I'm sure most people will either see the picture as the smoking towers (from the previous cartoon linked above), or they won't and will just *see* 'a picture on the wall'.
Wowbagger no doubt considered the possibility they would or would not see it ..I have only suggested my observation of a third possibility that in 'not' seeing it as the twin towers it becomes Stonehenge.
Is that 'too much' ..man?

PS: Spimmy, I loved your tent in the lobby gag, funniest thing since they left that briefcase for Hitler. But you may be a little heavy on Tank-Girl Sharon's make-up. The tental interior was pure Napoleonic madness! The Smithers character trembling in awful delight in the presence of Madness, the quintessence of Madness, the General in the Field, the maniacal Warriorking watering at reports of slaughter. Well that's how I saw it.

I thought of the situation first, then I hit upon the technique second and the joke third (on reflection that's the way I usually do it).
I have a love of drawn clutter with the odd 'hidden' joke or reference. I wish I could give it some higher purpose, but the simple fact is that I do it to amuse myself. If other people notice it too - that's a bonus. There's usually not reading into it - it's just there to amuse likeminded people.
