rewards

i hate it when you see parents say to the kid that they can have choc if they are good.

it should work the other way round. chocloate is not a reward. and you should not give rewards for good behaviour. you should punish for bad behaviour instead. it used to drive me nuts that all these naught kids got goodies when they managed to do what i did all the time for about five minutes. a polite thank you is fine.

just stop doing it and take away the association in the kids heads. yes make choc and crisps and stuff a treat. but a rare one. like whe you go away on holiday or at christmas. not for something to munch after school. if the kid is peckish after school give it fruit or something similar. if it gets hungry again before tea then tea time is too late. it helps if the kids helpd with tea or has someother activity to do. takes their mind off their tummies.

loads of kids in my school ahd crisps everyday in their lunch and straight after school aswell. i'm sure it stunts brain development, guess who did well in school and who didnt.

junk food has too much salt and other crud in for kids. thtas why it tastes so good after all. it's alright once in a while. but not everyday. the more of it you eat the more you want and the less you appreciate it. try it. dont eat any choc whtsoever for 2 weeks. bet you enjoy it more than when you have it for tea breaks everyday.

dried fruit, oat cakes etc are all better in lunch boxes than stuff with loads of artificial stuff in. stops them being so drowsy in the afternoon as well.

sorry for rant.
