It was suggested that this might be a suitable guide entry, so I've submitted to see what other people think.
It will be interesting to find out.

I thought it was great six weeks ago, and I just had another read and still think it's great!
I can't, of course, find the appropriate smiley to express hamster throwing. Maybe...
...is the closest thing?

I like this too, it is very interesting, as well as well written, and informative. It may be short, but it is to the point, which is a good thing in my book.
Well done purple dragon.

The titles of the two threads commenting on the entry pretty much sum it up.
The only complaints are that I don't like the :- s (I'm not sure what the editors would say about them either) or the last header.

Great entry! Concise and fun.
The ':-' after each header will be taken out by the sub, if not before then. No real problem there.
Dunno about the last header either.

While I did like this entry, I do feel that it needed a touch of tweaking. While it says 'never use a live hamster', my immediate thought was of people chucking a *real* dead hamster around, rather than an imaginary hamster. Then I read 'give it a stroke to show that it is alive and happy', and assumed that rule #1 was somehow ironic, and it was a real and alive hamster that was being thrown around. I wondered when the miming was going to come in and whether the hamster was going to be asked to play a game of charades after being caught or something...
Anyway, clearly I was being stupid, but I do wonder if the start of the 'to play' section could be reworded to be more in line with how mime is normally described. EG:
--
A player produces a 'hamster'. For example, sie might put hir hand in hir pocket and slowly withdraw it, palm up, as if holding a small furry animal. Or sie might get the 'hamster' out of a jogging bag, or spot it running around the floor. They hold it in their cupped hand to show where it is and give it a stroke to show that it is alive and happy. The player then moves hir hand in an underarm motion to mime throwing the hamster to another player.
--
From there, carry on as is. But I think in initially you do need to make it a little clearer that the hamster is a mime hamster - I'm not the only one to get a logical disconnect on this, judging from the entry's threads...
Fun stuff, though. Very pickable

Sorry, Lucinda, seems to be my day for disagreeing with you. Well not quite, because the entry does need some clarification, but I liked the fact you don't figure out exactly what's meant until the end.
Suggestion: say "real hamster" instead of "live hamster".

Thanks for the comments. I've removed the ':-'s (I had to go and re-read the article before I understood what you meant - I thought I had inadvertantly included some half finished smilies)
I've also changed 'live' to 'real' as it does seem to be causing some confusion, which is understandable really. It is not always easy to tell how something was meant to be read. Glad to see that in general the game is liked.
