h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

So, bikes in for an MOT tomorrow morning. I've bunged the old OE exhaust on it for this purpose but found a slight leak in the join - the exhaust is aluminium and one of the bolts is rounding on it.
I've just been having a look on line to check out possible replacements (not many places still list my bike) and have just been introduced to Vyxxn performance (website with usual prefic and co uk postfix). Not that I know anything about them but found this comment on their 'FAQ':

"What does it sound like? Its not an easy task to describe a sound but these cans have a deep throaty melody not unlike a herd of p*ssed elephants simultaneously farting into a trombone."

comments like that get my vote everytime!
In fact the rest of the comment sare quite amusing too

It's really just a matter of being in exactly the right place at precisly the right time. Darn few of us out there though. An analogy that more people can relate to is probably in order here. A herd of p*ssed elephants simultaneously farting into a trombone sounds like this: TTTTHHHHHHHHHPPPPPPPPPPPPPTTT! Only much louder and an octave lower.

I'd also like to take this opportubnity to curse the 12mm spanner pixies. I *know* I have 3 12mm spanners. One on long term loan from a friend, one from a set I got years ago and one of indeterminate origin. Opened the tool box yestrday. No 12mm spanners! Maybe they just sprouted legs or something. Strange are the ways of bike maintenance.

I blame the "after the event pixie" 'cause I can always find what I wanted when it's too late and I'm looking for something else that's gone for a walk. Specifically the 10mm and 13mm sockets and spanners and the only decent cross point driver I've got and just for the sake of another
