This mostly applies to bikers in the UK - and not so much those LUCKY people in S.A. who have year-round good weather!!!
Since winter is approaching, and it's getting more rainy, I decided to by a cover for my bike. I went to a bike shop and they were selling them for - can you believe - £60!!! No way was I paying that for a cover, and I don't think it's just because I'm half Scottish. So I went on ebay.co.uk and got one for £15 plus about £5 p&p. I just thought I'd share that incase anyone else is after one.

Thanks Riccardo. 60 pounds! Wow, that's expensive - I paid $45 Australian over here for my bike cover. 15pounds is about $45!!

Hi guys,
I'm glad I got the cover - it's been raining a lot here! Time to move to a warmer country I think. By the way I may be doing some touring on the bike sooner than I thought - our whole department is being made redundant!!! So early next year I can either get a new job or take a break and do some travelling - which I've been meaning to do for years.
Who knows!

Believe it or not, I made two for my bike myself! One is a full cover right down to the exhorstparps and footpegs and the other is a 'dew cover' that ties onto the mirror stalks and protects the dials, tank and seat overnight at the campsite. The first stays at home and the second rolls up into the tankbag.
Cost? Materials - ZAR45 (about US$5 UKP3) - and two sewing machine needles that my wife doesn't know I broke...!
