A Conversation for Regional Stereotypes In The United Kingdom

Regional Sterotypes

Post 1

Trout Montague

Hello,

How about adding these stereotypes? Perhaps we need to think about the source of these prejudices.

Scotch people are said to be tight
Scousers are said to nick stuff and look like Graeme Sounness
People from Portland are supposed to be 'inbred'
The Welsh and their sheep
Glasgow is for drinking and fighting

And-

Brummies are thick,
People from Leicester are all related (VERY closely - when they invite you back to meet their wife and their sister you only meet one person)
Cocknies will dupe you out of your money (Del boy)
Mancunians are all gangsters
People from East Anglia are illiterate (I can't read and I can't write, but I can drive a tractor)
A Geordie is a Scotsman with his brains beaten out

Not that I believe any of these prejudices of course - I merely report them here in the interests of completeness. smiley - ok
