Just how basic is it? Sort of O level / GCSE sort of level, or more advanced ?
Want to brush up a bit on my mathematics, it's a bit embarrasing being a pro. programmer & only having studyed O level maths !

Sorry, I didn't realise that I'd got any postings. (oops) If you like I can show you some of my course material sometime.
I've only ever done O'level (in fact you were in my class so you know that!) I still found it relatively easy - It does get harder towards the end but you get lots of help.

Okay, that would be good.
I wouldn't mind doing some sort of refresher thing, there's a lot of really stupid little things that I *really* ought to know how to do, and I *know* I have done in the past, but have forgotten it all
Any advice gratefully recieved
Possibly some kind of course on spellng might be helpfull as well

In reference to the "stupid little things that you*really* ought to know how to do, and you *know* you have done in the past, but have forgotten it all," I don't think that a Maths course will necessarily solve all your problems.
You could always but a dictionary.
Let's face it, you really should have paid more attention at school. What were you up to at the back of that Math's classroom?

Heh heh, you want to borrow my office2k install after me?
And if i remmember right, there was this really cute girl I used to sit near in maths, which probably distracted me somewhat...

I never noticed any cute girls. Who was she?
And, no I don't want to borrow your installation thingy. I think my typing mistakes add humour and character to my postings

Ah, that would be telling
Thinks she's some hotshot in the pharmaceutical / mail support industry these days.

This is just going to turn into a silly smilie only conversation isn't it. Then sooner or later one of us will end up trying to use a smilie that doesn't exist and the whole thing will be very childish indeed.

Heh heh, Only joking.
So, are you at 'Work', or sat at home with your feet up doing nothing, like me ?

I'm at work with my feet up doing nothing.
I have to have my feet up because Jamie beat me up yesterday and has injured my bad knee (and I'm sure you remember how much fuss I made last time!)

Peej ( Keeper of cakes, and treasurer to the Black Hole Escape Committee ) Posted Mar 12, 2002
Why did he beat you up?
I mean, there are probably hundreds of reasons why he might want to beat you up, but which on in particular did he use?
Anyway, let me rub it better...

Oops, What did I do? Someone clicked the yikes button!
Perhaps my supervisor has objected to me spending all day posting to h2g2.
And he did beat me up. I have witnesses.
He says I deserved it because I hit his tigger and made it fall off his computer.

Heh heh, think you got modded because you mentioned someones name in referance to an alledged 'beating'
Ah, so now we get to the heart of the matter, YOU started it by assulting his Tigger!, then came round here acting all sweet and innocent

I've just been and re-read the rules.
Maybe i did contravene the bit that says you have to be nice to people.
I suppose that means it's only right and fair that I make a public apology to Jamie who is the most wonderful supervisor in the whole of Brighton. Especially when he let's me have an extra long lunch break on Fridays to go to the pub. He even buys me beer sometimes.
I'd also like to apologise to his tigger for bashing it.
