A Conversation for Nowhere

Far too brief. Granted, "nowhere" is not much of a subject to work with, but personally I prefer entries that are more than a couple sentences long. I'm not a "mostly harmless" kind of guide critic.

*grin* I am going to edit this greatly, I just had a brain meltdown right when I started it. I have to sort out my ideas for the entry, 'cause there's nothing like writing about the non-existent.

well let me know when you get it done and I'll look it over again. I'm trying to critique as many as I can, considering how the Powers That Be obviously don't have time to do it. I don't know if I'm being helpful but I'm at least trying. smiley - bigeyes

You give feedback that people can use and that gave me confidence in my theater technician and dragon article. I am extremely grateful, since you're doing what TPTB aren't, and really being helpful.

Thank you!! smiley - smiley

No problem. Glad I could help. I just wish the Powers That Be had the time to do it because I'm sure they could be of more assistance than me.

It dawned on me today that I've been going "nowhere fast", so I thought I'd
look up "nowhere" in the Guide for some directions. I am so glad that you are
working on an entry!

As a fellow traveller, communicating from nowhere, it would be nice to know
such things as "how does one get here?" (most presumably because I'd
like to avoid it). "why does everything seem to be more expensive than
I can afford here?", "how does one leave?" (I only seem to find one-way
roads in), and "is there anyone else here" (it is very dark, but I seem to
hear voices).

I'm certain there are positive aspects to being in nowhere. Are there
any good restaurants? Entertainment complexes? Convention Centers?
Live theatre? What would the founding fathers of nowhere think of what
the current residents have done with the place? Does nowhere have any
interesting conversational pieces (ball of twine, geographical phenomenon,
rock that a native american prayed on during a battle?)

Also, it might be interesting to research why there is often a velocity
associated with the travel to nowhere. Can one go nowhere slowly?

In the meantime, I'll be collecting data and information during my (hopefully)
abbreviated stay in Nowhere! Let me know if you'd like to collaborate on
this important entry and overall service to ambulatory beings.

Best of luck in your writing.

JayH and I were having a conversation about this off-site and he posed more
good questions to ponder....

From Researcher JayH:

>More questions: What's the elevation of nowhere? And is it a flat place?
>Or is there a central valley, because it seems like people always find
>themselves in the *middle* of nowhere, not along the edges or outskirts, so
>I can't help wondering if the natural gravity well draws travelers there...

A comment about nowhere's suck-i-tudi-ness is in there somewhere...

Have a great one!

Want to see Nowhere? Drive as far as you can in any direction out of any major city in Texas, the space between those cities is Nowhere. smiley - winkeyesmiley - biggrin
