Absolutely!! If it'd been f*** then they could complain. Not that I'm saying bad language for the sake of it is ok, but there's context and reason and all that.
What are they doing in the British soaps? There are ads during late night films for chat lines. There must be loads more on tv that they could complain about.

I have been thinking of starting tv consumer organisation to demand less re-runs and less commecrials!

ITV and C4 are doing my nut in at the moment with the ad brwaks. they seem to have one every five kminutes (I'm not joking). Five minutes into the programme they have an ad break.
And if you're watching a documentary they tell you stuff, have an ad break and then after the ads, they tell youi everything they tolsd you before it, so you don't really learn anything.
And is it just me, or are they always the same ads in *every* break? If I see that Persil gel tabs on again!!!!
Rant over.

it seems you are watching commercials with some annoying documentary!

NPY Posted Mar 16, 2006
Something like that.
No matter what you're watching the ads just get so annoying. Or when a film's on BBC and they have to stop it half an hour before it's over for 20 minutes of news.

I only get BBC tv (1-4) in the Netherlands, but we have commercial tv too. 3 different companies rtl (3) / sbs (3) / talpa (1) / mtv (5) and we view Dutch version of international tv stations (10?).
for only 16 million viewers!

How many channels do you need really? You hear of people getting Sky packages ansd ending up with 400 channels. Madness! You can only watch one at a time.
And shopping channels!!?!? And in the UK, we get BBC radio through the digital freeview box. Listen to radio on the TV?!?!!? What about listening to the radio on the radio when you can't see anything anyway?

Well it seems that the multi-channel TV madness is widespread. I have a long attention span and have no need to be channel changing every 30 seconds like some do. Pay TV like your Sky and fox and god only knows what else is simply beyond me. People pay Murdoch and others for the privelage of watching commercials!
Bloody idiots deserve every bit of brain rotting manure they cop. Whats wrong with non-commercial channels, public broadcasting?
Well probably a lot if our underfunded national broadcaster is anything to go by, perceptions of bias abound in the corridors of incumbent Governments and they starve them of funds.
Phew glad i got that off my chest before I got really hot under the collar

The only advantage to ad breaks is that you can go to the loo or make a cup of tea without missing anything.

So true, and do you ever look at those full page Ads in a broad sheet newspaper, I know I just look straight past them onto the next story.
Actually do you still have a broadsheet now?

Jon Anderson remixed via Sydney DJ into 28 minute mind trip far outdoing the mid seventies 14 minute version(with the rest of the band) a live version recorded in London or someplace I think.
Am I growing backwards towards youth? Will I now have to listen to Atomic Kittens and nod my head sagely and raise a knowing eyebrow?
God help me!
Arghhhhhh

Ah', I knew there was a reason I stayed on this thread/on the Beeb site, its because iregardless what many say here about the English, you can usually expect a modicum of understanding from a fellow cricket playing nation. Damn, there I go again raking over painful, painful coals. Roll on summer(ours) and the spectacle that is Australia/England rivalry.
Am I going on a bit I wonder?
