OK, yes, me again. I should have poked around the subject on h2g2 a bit before I displayed my ignorance. Sorry folks. I'm new to this game.
Having now read the section on RP, which sounds distinctly apologetic for speakers of same, I would like to comment that in the recent Radio Times Lovliest Voice on Radio competition, several of the highest places were filled by Radio 4 Newsreaders whose RP is as standard as you can wish to find - Peter Donaldson, Brian Perkins, Charlotte Green, Harriet Cass etc. Listeners really do appreciate straight talking. And I am sure that the Continuity Announcers would have featured in the list if their names had been a bit more high profile.
I wait with bated breath to see the Continuity Workshop appear.....

It's roleplaying, like in dungeons and dragons. and the continuity workshop probably won't be up anythime soon, as I have basicially quit the whole RP scene.
