there are alot of cliff slips at Barton, i'm often found clambering over them precariously in winter ESPECIALLY the ones that have been 'taped' off!

It's less fun when you're grandfather built a beach hut and then, twenty years later, the cliff falls on top of it.

Fortunately not - afterall, who wants to be in a beach hut when there are cliffs falling down on top of them. The same cliff fall also took out the inshore rescue lifeboat's storage shed and the boat...

Luckily they were able to repair both before long and they weren't needed in the meantime. The lifeboat was just a rib, so repairing it wasn't too hard.

Only two were stolen - well, one stolen, the other was vandalised and a leg was stolen... They've both been replaced, and the rest are still there if you look in the right place.
Blackgang Chine keeps buying land further inland, and moves everything back. It doesn't lose anything, just relocates it. And since they bought Robin Hill, which is about as central to the Island as possible, there's no chance that they will ever close down as they can just move everything there.

I'm back form yonder Isle having had 2 weeks as a grockle (however what's a grockle called who works there for a bit?)
It was frantastic, campled at Atherfield campsite run by Mrs. Goddie who is really lovely and everyong must go and camp there! I found 2 bits of back rolled bone, 3 lovely ammonites (one which was cut and polished for me by Isle Geogems) and I also found a rather nice Pterosaur wing bone!! (Hoever I will refer to it without the silly silent P as that really gor me confused ) Steve Hutt and most of the folks at Dinosaur Farm Museum (where I worked) though it was pretty cool and it will be displayed there when it's been preped (which I helped with). So when your next down there go and have a look.
OK I think 'm plugged out now,
Nick
