Murder at Kapheron

Post 1

Wargamer (The Wanderer)

Kapheron. A colony that relies on mining for survival. The planetary governor turned traitor, and a VIPER was dispatched to remove him. However, the VIPER disappeared shortly after arriving. Though the mission was a success and the governor was assassinated, various members of the population have begun to disappear. Now, the murderor must be found before any valuable members of the populous are killed. At 3:15am, several meteorite fragments burned up in the atmosphere, creating impressive flares in the sky. However, not all of them where meteorites...

[Marshal] *Over the Comm.* Marshal to All. I've landed safely. Meet up in the Diamond Tower, just north of the Governor's Palace. Marshal Out.

Purple Moose - He comes, he goes. But mainly the latter...

*Dharackni appears from no-where in one of the mine shafts in the outskirts of the city surrounding the Govener's palace and about 5 miles from the Diamond Tower.*
Damn! Better get that teleportation spell up to scratch, one day I may kill myself. Better get moving, can't see a thing.
*Dharackni draws his staff and lights the end of it like a torch. The mine around him is glistening with mud, the shaft doesn't look very stable. All the precious metals have been removed and luckily Dharackni can see the light of the entrance dimly in the distance. A rumble from around the tunnel gets Dharackni moving. He twiddles his comm.*
Hello Marshal, I'm here, it'll take me a while to get to the tower. I've got to go through the city first, see you later. Out.

Purple Moose - He comes, he goes. But mainly the latter...

*Dharackni is wandering through the streets of the city towards the tower. The locals look at the stranger with fear and awe, he is taller than most of them and his attire made him stand out. One man recognised the mark of Tzeentch hanging round D's neck.*
Oi! you! your kind aren't welocme round here!
*at this the man draws a knife and plunges toward Dharackni. Dharackni sidesteps and throws the man to the floor. The man starts to shout, police, police!
Dharackni makes good of his position and runs*

*Dharackni has now run most of the way through the city, he is almost at the tower. The police the man called for don't seem too be around.
Dharackni tucks the symbol of Tzeentch inside his robe.*

Nighttime.

The mining city is alive with frenzied activity, as the miners, fresh from the shafts and on their way home, are somehow detoured with their take-home pay by bright lights and painted bodies. The bar zone is rockin', juke box music ten years out of date pouring from the swinging fiberglass doors, providing background music for the women plying one of the oldest trades. A drunken miner occasionally flies out a door, to the accompaniment of breaking glass and cursing. One would care not to walk too close to the alleys,f riend. You never know.

In fact, one such alley, up to now unremarkable, suddenly becomes the object of our camera's attention. Does the director know something?

Suddenly..

Lights! Lights lights lights lights lights!

Action!

Tesla coil crackle and sunspot flare blasts the alley, live sparks of electricity roiling the dank passage, lighting it in blue-white glare. The lightning storm intensifies, takes for, coalesces,

and two of the strangest idividuals anywhere take their first breaths.

hm.... interesting place.
heehee.
Rafe> Come now, Spring. We've much holy work to do here.

*Marshal sneaks along under the shadow of the Eastern wall of the city. His vox blurts something unidentifiable into his ear.*
[Marshal] What was that? This is Marshal, say again. Say again.
*The vox bleeds white noise. Marshal curses, the wall must be intefereing with the comms traffic. He climbs up a gutter and spies along from the rooftop. His vox stutters again.*
"Dhara...arshal, I'm here! Repor..g in."
[Marshal] Say again... Is that you Dharackni? Glad you made it. I'll be at the tower in five minutes. If you hear from any other VIPER agents-
*Marshal goes silent, draws his pistol and spies around the chimney. A roof-scrubber, come to clean away the dirt blown down from the slag-heaps in the hills. Marshal curses. His side of the roof was clean, but the scrubber might check here anyway, and he didn't want to kill civilians...*

In one of the nondescript bars, indestinguishable from the rest for the same worn prefab interior, oil and grimy with the countless sweaty bodies it's held, a figure in one booth speaks into a modern Viper comm unit, guaranteed untraceable.

well, after a small tangle with Rafe, I figured I needed some R&R, by myself, and away from him. To plan, also, what the hell to do about this problem. You're here about the murders, aren't you? I don't know anything about it, but I might be able to help.

(movement, multiple feminine giggles from the gloom)

AFTER I finish my vacation.

*Marshal slides around the roof, drawing his pistol as he goes...*
[Voice] Hamar! Where are ya' lad!? Shift change in 2! Let's go!
[Hamar] Comin' Wex!
*The man leaves the roof, allowing Marshal to cross the roof and reach the tower.*
[Marshal] Marshal to all. I'm at the tower. Meet me here and sound off on arrival. Don't look for me, just trust me. I'm there...

Okay, If I'm not on again by Saturday, use the following information:
The governor was killed by a man named Tessek. He was trained as a Sniper, and proved highly skilled in this field. He was chosen because he was a local, but now his loyalties are suspect. If he cannot be found, then information on him should be dug up. I hope to see some good RP info-hunting from you all. smiley - ok

*Dharackni just about spots Marshal slide accross the roof. He then signals to him, Marshal nods in responce and Dharckni heds back to the town.*
*The time is about midnight and Dharackni is surprised to see something move about 50 yards infront. He draws his pistol, crouches and waits...*
