A Conversation for The Phantom Menace

Ok, yes I was very excited to see the newest episode. But the hype that was generated was just too much. I want to discuss the stupid tricks people you know, not friends of cousin's sisters dates, have done to see Phantom Menace.
Myself, there was a whole department at work who rented a theater at eight in the morning. 25 dollars a head to get in just to break even. AND I hear tell the guy who set the whole thing up couldn't sell enough tickets to break even. He lost money on the deal.
When I asked why you would want to pay $25 for a movie I got a variety of answers
1) Dude.. Its Star Wars!
- I have no argument on this one
2) I can say'I saw a private screening of Star Wars'
- Yes.. If your private screening involves George Lucus, that is very impressive. Maybe even a private screening with the guy who swept the set. But a private screening with 100 other dateless wonders?
3) I don't want to deal with the lines or crowds
- Work on your social skills.
4) Maybe I will meet a girl that has the same interests.
- Go stand in line. A theater filled with software engineers is not a strong dating environment. Besides.. you work with everyone that's gonna be there.
So my point is.. what silly things have you done to see this show. I saw it Monday afternoon.. no crowd.. no line.. 2 tickets for 9 bucks.. had a date..
