h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I am a collector of toy cars, particuarly F1 related but also into others. Especially Scalextric but also others.
I collect from Ebay and boot sales mostly but have looked a few other places.
I am in the process of building a F1 circuit, hopefully to include scenery, pits, stands, etc. The setting will be 60's, 70's and 80's era, with a few older and a few more modern vehicles that I could not hold back from purchasing. I could do with hints and tips on designing and building, where to collect from and how much not to pay.
My collection is only about 10 months old but coming on slowly. Any one out there want to talk about any of the above please feel free to get in touch.

I've not got any helpful advice at all, I'm afraid, although I *am* into model motors so I'll bore you rigid with them!

I've a reasonable variety of Dinkies, Corgis and Matchbox cars from my childhood (the 60s) - most were repainted when they weren't worth anything, so they're still not worth anything, but they give me pleasure. I've also collected a dozen or so of the 1:47 scale Lledo Vanguard models (again, mainly 60s stuff).

I've been after a model of my (full size!) 1961 Hillman Minx since I bought the car in 1985 - nobody ever modelled it. Then Lledo brought one out this year!

I bought 3 - the first one was great, but when they released one in the right colour scheme (black - and the interior is red, just like mine) I pounced and bought another 2 - one for the mantlepiece and one to go in the back window of the car. If anybody knows where I can get hold of some transfers to change the numberplate I'd be delighted!

Now, if somebody wants to model a Morris Minor in Trafalgar Blue I'll be made up - I could repaint one of the ones I've got but sadly my painting skills leave a lot to be desired at that scale.
