Sorry for the delay in replying, but I've been away from home a couple of days.

The GuideML code you posted should work - I've just tried it myself.
You can see the result here: A21044314 and the code here: <./>test21044314</.>

Skin or browser?

For the h2g2 skins, I gave links.

Examples of browsers: Internet Explorer, Opera, Firefox, Mozilla, Netscape...

Well, so am I... hm...

Have you tried all the four links I gave in posting no. 5? Do you see the red text in any of the links?

Nope, 'this text is red' is black in all four cases.
The goo page doesn't look navy blue either, like it used to on the Dell computer I used a few years ago (it is no longer with me now smiley - wah I left it behind). This one is a Fujitsu Siemens. Would that be what is causing the difference? smiley - smiley

Perhaps it is just a 'glich' in the system? smiley - bigeyes

On a page about web safe colours (A286274) it has examples of the colours from about half way down. Can you see any of the colours shown there? (You don't have to read the article I won't be asking questions about the content smiley - winkeye)

No I can't, but I will read it in depth and also try viewing it from another system. Thank you for your help! smiley - smiley

Will have to double check again later and have a go at Traveller's suggestion. smiley - ok

Which does mean it's something on the computer where it doesn't work. If it's not Travellers suggestion then I'm stumped!

I have done all of this:

Use the menu bar in top:
Select: Tools / Internet Options /
First == leftmost tab, in the bottom right: Accessibility
Uncheck: [ ] Ignore colors specified on WEB pages
Ok, Ok

and that entry still remains the same.
I can see colours in all other areas. It is just in the entries area that I don't see them. smiley - erm

Thank you for your help.
I'll try the second one now.
