first grumble:

in the recipe bit you mention 'tomato sauce' what do you mean by this. because we use it to mean ketchup. and we are trying to make ketchup.

well, not really a grumble, more a comment.

the way i see it you have two options.

1) write up the reciepe straight for the guide and leave out the personal stuff.

2) write up this version as an article for the post on 'my experience of ketchup defficency and how i over came it.....etc'

you get the idea.

it's well written and quite amusing but your style and attack are nopt consistent and not completly suitable for the edited guide.

maybe you could get both a guyide entry and a post article out of it.

but good effort, well done.

well, there's quite a difference between tomato sauce and ketchup and that's on the taste.

I made some small updates to the entry..it should be more clear/educational now.

I'll consider the article and recipe thingy. (where do i go now?)

I'd like to see others people's opinions if possible...

I agree with FABT. Guide entries are supposed to be written in the third person. Two entries, one for the guide and one for the post would make the best of what's written here.

For the Edited Guide version, I figure you should concentrate on the homemade ketchup recipe - I'm not sure the meanderings about getting ketchup out of the bottle really add very much - they'd be better in a seperate entry on ready-made ketchup. But that's me.

woo-hoo, this has improved a lot! GuideML, blobs, lists, footnotes, all the features that GuideML has in store

Very minor points from me:
There's a 'to salty' which should read 'too salty', and I guess the tags around the header make the Sugar link wrap into it (this could as well be a bug in Opera, I'm not sure).
"the ketchup will result extremely thick" doesn't appear to be a sentence.

Finally, I know that Mikey is going to bring some good news on Monday...

there are some points that even now, i think i should mention.

the first is that i do not like the title... at all.

the second is the the link 'flavor' should be 'flavour'. the english version, not the american.

This entry will now be handed over to a sub-ed, who will make some changes. The title, for one, will likely be changed -- it *is* an intriguing title, but we're shooting for titles that do a clearer job of explaining what the entry will be about.

After the sub-ed is done, the entry will be passed over to the house staff, who will had some special polish of their own.

Then - lucky you! - the entry will be on the front page of the guide, and officially inducted into the Edited Guide!

Don't worry, you'll get an email from h2g2 when your entry is going to appear on the front page -- wouldn't want you to miss all the fun and glory!

h2g2 has made a copy of your entry, and it's the copy that gets edited and slapped on the front page -- this way you're still credited as the author of the edited version, but you get to keep your original version, too.

The edited version will reside at A700868, which right now is just a copy of the original -- no editing has happened yet.
