I haven't read this yet Cal. However, my initial reaction is that the title should include his RAF rank and medals/honoours.

Dunno if this is useful or not, but his artificial legs are still held at the RAF Museum at Stafford (not a public museum).

Oh, and is there an explanation of how the .5 on his tally? I assume it was a shared credit?

Well, there are longer titles around than 'Group Captain Sir Douglas Bader, DSO DFC' and I think this gives sufficient info to stimulate one to want to read more. smiley - 2cents

And I would prefer to see 'Douglas' rather than 'Dougles!; he was, after all, only legless! (In that he lost his legs, not his sobriety!

I did apologise for being pedantic when I first told you!

I have chosen to ignore the several spelling errors and punctuation errors that run through the piece!

Let's not end this exchange on a sour note.

I don't like conflict, and I don't suppose you do either!

I intended the first posting as a joke, in one way; but it didn't go down very well with you...sorry!

You won't believe this, but I wrote a reply to your piece at length, saying quite positive things about it, but 'lost' it before posting it when I tried to look back at your piece. So I was annoyed with myself for being so careless!
If you know me and my postings at all, you will know that I always try to begin and end a review with a positive comment. I am not usually so combative!
I read 'Reach for the Sky', Douglas Bader's autobiography in 1956 at the age of 17; there is a lot that you could say that is very interesting about the great man.

Best Wishes with your Entry.

I just asked you to point out my mistakes as that is one of the reason peer review is here smiley - erm

I'm sorry I didn't understand your joke at the start but I have only been in peer review for a couple of days and I am still getting used to how it works smiley - erm
