Ye Olde Town O' Barnoldswick
The town of Barnoldswick (affectionately dubbed 'Barlick' by locals) is situated amidst picturesque surroundings in Yorkshire (or Lancashire, depending upon your personal preference). It is a nice town which suffers from too many idiots (believe me, I have to live here).
It wouldn't be quite so bad, were it not for the large population of townies (the sort of scum who hang out in bus stations with Cider and WKD, shouting abuse at random passers by, and starting fights, with their tracky-bottoms tucked into their socks and their very cream, brand-label get-ups), as well as the regular twenty-something 'lads' who like nothing more than to get fueled-up on assorted alcoholic bevereges (the higher the alcohol volume the better), and roam the streets in the wee-small hours waking people up with their high volume slanging-matches.
But It's Not All Bad...
Aside from these unfortunate folk, there are some nice things to be found in Barnoldswick, to travel down out of the center towards Bracewell, you will come across a great pub, 'The Foster's Arms' which is reasonably quiet, and welcomes children, their pub lunches are to die for.
As well as this there are a number of churches for those religiously inclined, and one of the few remaining, working mill engines, at Bancroft Mill, out of the town center, heading towards the rolling hills and fields around the top road out of town, with some amazing views over Barnoldswick and the surrounding area (a townie-free zone).
And Here's The Educational Bit...
Barnoldswick can also be found in the Guiness Book of Records for being the town with the longest name, not to have repeated letters.
